When Vaults of Grayskull went live in 2003, one of the main features was my fan-fiction trilogy called Grayskull. The three stories were named The Orbs of Trath, The Gathering Storm and The Key to Castle Grayskull.

As time went on, I had more story ideas. A second trilogy was written called Resurrection. Its stories were Thorn’s Hammer, Fears and Falsehoods and The Dragon and his Boy. (You might see the C.S. Lewis reference there.)

To complement the longer tales, half a dozen short stories were added as prequels, middle parts and sequels. I refer to the complete works as The Grayskull Saga. I used existing MOTU lore and added some fresh ideas.

I wondered about adding the stories to the redesigned site, but I ended up focussing on the Vintage, Classics and Origins toy lines. Furthermore, I hadn’t looked at the stories in over fifteen years. I could barely remember them.

Nevertheless, the thought persisted. I wasn’t certain the stories were worth bringing back, but I remembered that I had enjoyed writing them. I am glad to say I think they stand the test of time, despite being early creative works.

So, here they are, back on Vaults of Grayskull after a few years hidden away. The links are below in reading order. I don’t even know if people read fan fiction these days, but it was a big thing on the early MOTU fan sites.

The map was created for the original site on a Canon StarWriter Pro word processor! It definitely needs redrawing but hopefully it is clear enough to show the locations in the stories. I hope you enjoy the tales!
