Welcome to Vaults of Grayskull! Celebrating Masters of the Universe action figures and stories since 2003, Vaults of Grayskull is one of the top reference sites for fans and collectors. This version of the site went live in 2021.

The Masters of the Universe toy line was launched in 1982 by Mattel and featured many memorable characters. The names He-Man and Skeletor are instantly recognizable. Castle Grayskull is equally famous and iconic.

The property expanded into several spin-off and reinterpreted incarnations over the years, plus numerous licensed products. Vaults of Grayskull is primarily concerned with the Vintage (original), Classics and Origins lines.

However, a section called The Vaults hosts additional MOTU material, including the Dark Horse books, the fortieth anniversary He-Man and Skeletor figures and the Masterverse Vintage Collection which was launched in 2025.

Mattel packaged minicomics with the original figures to provide play ideas for the kids who enjoyed the toys. These stories evolved into a deep mythology which many fans love as much as the toys themselves.

That’s why those early minicomics (and other stories) are featured on Vaults of Grayskull. Evocative artwork also played its part in inspiring countless imaginations. This site is a years-long MOTU tribute by one UK-based fan.

The original Vaults of Grayskull site was, at its inception, primarily a fan-fiction resource. I presented my MOTU story collection which I called The Grayskull Saga. After a five-year gap, the stories are republished.

There are many things I would like to add or update, but time and resources are limited. However, there is already far more here than on the original site, and it will always remain advertisement-free as websites ought to be.
