HORDE TROOPER
EVIL MECHANICAL ENFORCER OF HORDAK
Although Mattel had stepped away from the Classics line, they surprised fans by releasing a single version of the Horde Trooper on their website. The figure appears a little grubbier than those in the 2013 two-pack.
STRATOS
HEROIC LEADER OF THE BIRD PEOPLE
Stratos was released in a three-pack with Trap Jaw and Prince Adam. The design comes from his appearance in the Series One minicomics. This figure was a very welcome addition to the line for Vintage minicomic fans.
TRAP JAW
EVIL CYBORG CRIMINAL WITH AN IRON JAW
This great version of Trap Jaw is based on his appearance in the minicomic entitled The Menace of Trap Jaw! Fans had longed for a minicomic edition of the character since the beginning of the Classics line.
PRINCE ADAM
HEROIC SECRET IDENTITY OF HE-MAN
This version of Prince Adam draws on illustrations from Vintage minicomics and the DC Comics. The use of the Oo-Larr head is a nod to the barbarian style of those early stories. A slot for his sword was added to the tunic.
TERROAR
EVIL SNAKE MEN CREATURE WITH A SINISTER SHRIEK
Terroar was a Power-Con exclusive sold in a three-pack with Plasmar and Lord Gr’Asp. All three characters were based on Vintage concept designs. The figures were intended to reuse existing parts but were not released.
PLASMAR
HEROIC MASTER OF PLASMA-BLAST POWER
Plasmar is probably the weakest of the 2017 Power-Con figures because he reuses parts from Sir Laser-Lot and Rio Blast, both of whom were disappointing figures. The snakeskin legs are an interesting touch though.
LORD GR’ASP
VENOMOUS VIPER WITH A CRUSHING CLAW
Lord Gr’Asp is unashamedly weird. He reuses the Sssqueeze head; the Rattlor head would have been a far better choice. The Clawful claw in yellow and black works rather well but he’s quite a plain figure overall.
HE-MAN
MOST POWERFUL MAN IN THE UNIVERSE
Ultimates He-Man includes three head styles and has an extra sword. Super7 made the Ultimates figures to order. Customers had to buy a complete set but could then purchase additional figures as singles.
SKELETOR
EVIL LORD OF DESTRUCTION
Skeletor is not a straightforward reissue because he uses the forearms and boots from Dragon Blaster Skeletor. As well as two Skeletor heads, a Keldor head and cloak were included.
FAKER
EVIL ROBOT OF SKELETOR
The belt and bracers are black on Ultimates Faker; on the 2009 edition they were silver. Three heads were included. The weapons match the assortment found with the He-Man figure in this set.
TEELA
WARRIOR GODDESS
Ultimates Teela included four different heads including the Battleground Teela style. As well as the snake-staff weapon, Ultimates Teela also has the spear that was included with the Goddess.
RAM MAN
HEROIC HUMAN BATTERING RAM
Ram Man was released in the colour scheme of the Series Two minicomics and cross-sell art. A plain grey colour was used for the metal parts rather than the shiny metallic paint of the 2013 release.
