The Vintage Point Dread & Talon Fighter playset included a record and storybook illustrated by Alfredo Alcala. The writer is not known. The book included two stories: The Power of Point Dread! and Danger at Castle Grayskull!
Alcala’s illustrations are unlike the dramatic masterpieces he provided for the Series One minicomics. The change to a cartoon style reflects the shift toward the Filmation-inspired version of the Masters of the Universe canon.
The stories and artwork are fun and reasonably entertaining, but the characters aren't represented as anything other than jovial (in the case of the heroes) or comical (in the case of the villains). There is no real jeopardy.
