Several Masters of the Universe annuals were released in the United Kingdom by World International Publishing. The first one is presented here. No writer or artist credits were included in the book.
This annual stands apart from subsequent issues for a number of reasons. It includes photographs of prototype figures. Unfortunately the print quality was not very good but the images are nevertheless interesting.
The stories were evidently written while some Masters of the Universe themes were in development. This is seen in the character of Gorpo, who is a prototype version of Orko and wears blue garments instead of red.
Other memorable canon characters are featured. These include Queen Amaxa of Tarn, Queen Xerxa (an ancestor of He-Man) and the diminutive Prince Amberis of Auriconia. The stories are entertaining and evocative.
