The galleries on this page show examples of Evil Horde figures released at retail from the Masters of the Universe Origins line. Cross-sell art is included in the galleries if it was made available on card-backs or boxes.
HORDAK
RUTHLESS LEADER OF THE EVIL HORDE

Origins Hordak is a great action figure. His similarity to the Vintage version is obvious. The cape is more robust this time around, and the strap on the shield is much better designed than the flawed original.
BUZZ SAW HORDAK
RUTHLESS LEADER WITH MOW-DOWN CHEST WEAPON

Buzz Saw Hordak was released as a deluxe figure. He has an alternative head with open eyes and a sneer. Two circular saw weapons are included. These lock into his chest. The firing mechanism works well.
MOSQUITOR
EVIL ENERGY-DRAINING INSECTOID

Origins Mosquitor is a good version of the character. The pumping liquid ‘blood’ is back, although the chest panel is too small. The creature head is new for Mosquitor and is a great feature. The energy blast is also new.
HORDE TROOPER
EVIL MECHANICAL ENFORCER OF HORDAK

The silvery colour used on this version of the Horde Trooper is an interesting change from the usual light grey. The button mechanism which collapses the torso works well. The sculpting is basic but it’s a decent figure.
MANTENNA
EVIL SPY WITH THE POP OUT EYES

A great combination of Vintage and later influences. A lever on a spring pushes out Mantenna’s eyes. A tiny wedge of paper is therefore needed to keep him posed with his eyes out. A really good figure.
LEECH
EVIL MASTER OF POWER SUCTION

Leech was released as a deluxe figure with an extra head and alternative hands. The bared-teeth head is similar to the Classics design while the suction head is close to the original. He’s turned out rather well.
HORDE TROOPER PRIME
GUARDSMEN OF DOOM TOWER

A decent version of the Horde Trooper figure with Roboto arm parts. (The Trap Jaw gun does not fit the socket because its pin is too long.) The included Hover Prime Robot reuses the Hover Robot mould from the Classics line.
MODULOK
EVIL BEAST OF A THOUSAND BODIES

The base model looks good but there is a design problem with the various parts. For some unfathomable reason Mattel made the pins and connectors different lengths and sizes, so it’s hard to assemble alternative creatures.
