Welcome to Vaults of Grayskull! Celebrating Masters of the Universe action figures and stories since 2003, Vaults of Grayskull is one of the top reference sites for fans and collectors. This version of the site went live in 2021.

The Masters of the Universe toy line was launched in 1982 by Mattel and featured many memorable characters. The names He-Man and Skeletor are instantly recognisable. Castle Grayskull is equally famous and iconic.

The property expanded into several spin-off and reinterpreted incarnations over the years, plus numerous licensed products. Vaults of Grayskull is primarily concerned with the Vintage (original), Classics and Origins lines.

However, an extra section called The Vaults includes pages about more Masters of the Universe material, including the fortieth anniversary He-Man and Skeletor figures and a short look at a handful of 200X figures.

Mattel packaged minicomics with the original figures to provide play ideas for the kids who enjoyed the toys. These stories evolved into a deep mythology which many fans love as much as the toys themselves.

That’s why those early minicomics (and other stories) are featured on Vaults of Grayskull. Evocative artwork also played its part in inspiring countless imaginations, and I’ll be adding examples in due course.
